
Rodonyà is a municipality of the Alt Camp. It is situated
in the south-east part of the county, and it boundaries with the
Baix Penedès county. The township has an area of 8.4 km².
The part of it that is on the left of the Gaià river, is
rugged because of the spurs of the Montmell mountain range.

The village of Rodonyà is the only inhabited place of
the township. It is at a height of 312 metres, in right side of
the C-246 county road, which links Valls and El Vendrell and crosses
the township. Parallel to the road, in the north, it is the toll
road that links Lleida and Barcelona. In the most mountainous area
of the township, there is a kind of suburb, which is called "Urbanización
Pineda de Santa Cristina". Rodonyà shares its ownership
with the municipality of La Bisbal de Falset.

The economy of Rodonyà is mainly based on the agriculture.
The lands are all unirrigated lands, and the most important crop
is the vineyard, followed by the olive and the almond tress.
The Agricultural Cooperative produces wine of a high quality that
is suitable for making "cava". The Cooperative is essential in
the municipal economic development. The existence of some restaurants
and small industries complete the economic "aspect of the village.
